Welcome All!

As time goes by it becomes more and more difficult to find time to write in this blog.  I have not lost an ounce of passion for the work that I love doing so very much.  In fact, I have learned so much more about conceiving ideas, production, directing, editing, and bringing into being what starts out in my head than would have ever likely happened if I had stayed immersed solely in a post-Jim Henson Muppet world.  Truth be told, none of that has anything to do with what’s left of the Muppets.

But I have to admit that ten years after being pushed out of the Muppets, I find it very disheartening to have witnessed the steady disappearance of Jim Henson’s influence altogether.  With no one left actively involved that experienced a direct relationship with him as a core member of his team I mourn his passing again and again.

I would remind you, the reader, that there was a time not so long ago when the name “Jim Henson” belonged to a person, not just a corporation.  And what he brought about in this world was unique and worked solely because of the particular environment he created and nurtured for our characters to live, evolve and thrive within.

Make no mistake, readers, that influence is gone from the Muppets, but not from the world. I awake with it every day.

    Hi Mr. Whitmire,
How have you been doing lately? It is nice to see your post on this website again, and hopefully, I get to meet you one day. I did send you an email with questions during a few months ago, but it is understandable that you did not have the time to answer them. Thank you for your time and consideration.

    Hi Mr. Whitmire,
How are you doing right now? I must say that I completely agree with you wrote in your latest blog post. I do feel that the Muppets will never be what they once were at this moment, and I am also not a fan of how Kermit’s character is being portrayed now. With all due respect to Matt Vogel, I personally don’t think he is a good fit for Kermit. And I have no desire to watch this new Muppet Show special, and as I am concerned, it is just a desperate key jangling move from Disney to try to keep the Muppets relevant, rather than truly trying to understand the characters. I do hope you are doing well. Thank you.
